Our Children and Young People service supports young people (aged between 8 and 25). The children and young people we work with have highly complex needs, exhibiting behaviours of concern of significant frequency, intensity, and duration. Our aim is to improve their quality of life and enable them to stay with their families. At Soho residential care home, we understand that each individual is different. Everyone has their own set of strengths and challenges, and therefore requires a personalised approach.
By looking at the social, physical, and individual contexts in which behaviour occurs, we can develop proactive strategies to reduce those behaviours and encourage self-regulation. We also co-produce goals with the children and young people to develop their skills. Our interest is to improve social connections in their community and school. We work with parents, carers, and other professionals in a variety of settings to effectively implement Positive Behaviour (PBS) strategies and ensure that the experience is consistent for the young person.
Some of the support we provide:
Improving quality of life and family support
Developing proactive strategies to reduce negative behaviours
Encouraging self-regulation and independence
Co-producing goals to develop life skills
Improving social connections in their community and school
We aim to offer affordable care that meets each young person's individual needs. Each case is assessed by the care manager, who uses their experience to determine the level of care and the necessary resources. The cost may vary based on the requirements of the care provided.
Care sessions can vary, ranging from one staff member providing assistance for an hour to two staff members attending for a few hours per day, depending on the needs of the young person.
